International Conference on Semi-Solid Processing of Alloys and Composites that will be held in Cape Town,
South Africa from 8 – 11 October 2012.
The biennial S2P Conference is the 12th conference in the field focussing on the
advancement of fundamental knowledge and development of materials and industrial
processes for semi-solid manufacturing of high performance metal components. The
previous 11 highly successful S2P Conferences, Sophia-Antipolis, France (1990),
Cambridge, MA, USA (1992),Tokyo, Japan (1994), Sheffield, England (1996), Denver,
CO, USA (1998), Torino, Italy (2000), Tsukuba, Japan (2002), Limassol, Cyprus (2004),
Busan, Korea (2006), Aachen, Germany and Liège, Belgium (2008) and Beijing, China
(2010); provided an excellent platform for researchers and industry working in the
field to share and promote this unique manufacturing technology.
The 12th conference will concentrate on the technological advancements and application
of the semi-solid metal forming technologies for high performance metal components.
